What a KickTogether session includes
Sessions follow a warm-up, three to five activities with breaks in between, and a cool-down. A predictable shape, plenty of space, and no pressure to keep up.
Structured sport activities
Sport-based group activities with a clear start, middle and end, so children know what is coming next.
Social skills through play
Facilitated peer interaction and social skill development, built into the games rather than taught at a whiteboard.
Skills and teamwork
Skill development through teamwork and guided practice, with supportive mentoring inside a group environment.
Aligned to NDIS goals
Activities can be aligned to participant NDIS goals, and can complement physiotherapy and occupational therapy plans.
Every session includes a minimum of two coaches or support workers.
Additional staff are added where appropriate. Ratios are set around the group, not the other way around — if a child needs more support on the day, we bring more support.
Choose the setting that suits your child
Some children thrive in a small group. Others need one-to-one attention first and join a group later. Both are available, and you can move between them.

Safety and first aid
- Coaches and support workers are first-aid trained and respond immediately to any injury.

Questions families ask us
If your question is not here, call Daniel on 0447 750 888 and ask.
Where do sessions take place?
All KickTogether sessions are held at The Currajong School, 90 Darling Rd, Malvern East VIC 3145. The venue is outdoors with a field and court layout, offering plenty of space to run, jump and catch.
How are sessions structured?
Sessions are generally structured with a warm-up, three to five activities with breaks in between, and a cool-down.
What happens if my child becomes distressed or needs a break?
If a child needs space or a break during a session, we support them by adjusting the activity or offering the option to sit down and rest. With access to two separate playgrounds within the facility, we can also offer time in a quieter space until they feel ready to rejoin.
Support workers or parents are welcome to help the participant settle before they return to the group. After the session we talk with the parent or guardian so we are working together on your child's ongoing needs.
In the event of a behavioural escalation, our Head Support staff member oversees the situation to ensure the safety of the participant and the group. If necessary, the nominated contact is notified to discuss next steps.
Is there any tackling or contact?
No. All of our sessions are completely non-contact and focus on skills, teamwork and fun.
Do parents need to stay?
Parents and guardians do not need to be present during sessions, as KickTogether coaches provide full supervision and support. You are welcome to stay and watch if your child feels more comfortable having you nearby, or if they need additional support.
Can my child bring a fidget toy?
We recommend fidget toys during break times, and we will accommodate participants who need them during sessions.
What should we bring?
- Comfortable sports clothes and runners
- Water bottle
- Any support equipment, if needed
- A positive attitude
Snacks can be brought but must be eaten off-court and not shared with other participants.
Is this claimable through the NDIS?
Sessions may be claimed under multiple codes, depending on the participant's plan and eligibility. One example is Core Supports. Commonly used line items include 04_102_0136_6_1 (Group Activities, Standard, Weekday Daytime) and 04_104_0125_6_1 (Access Community, Social and Recreational Activities, Standard, Weekday Daytime).
KickTogether is not NDIS registered, so services cannot be claimed through NDIA-managed funding. Read the NDIS information.
